New manager at Denver Insurance
By Lindsey Corell

At the end of April, Andrew Kahler took over for John Knudson at Denver Insurance Agency, 124 South State Street. Although he recently joined the agency, Kahlers experience in the business is far from being new.

Kahler graduated from high school in Lindsborg, Kansas in 2006. After graduation, he moved to Waverly to attend Wartburg College. In 2010, he graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems.

After moving to Des Moines from Waverly, Kahler got introduced into the insurance field by getting hired as an adjuster at State Auto Insurance.

In 2013, Kahler moved back to Waverly and worked at CUNA Mutual. Three years later in November of 2016, Kahler began working at Denver Insurance Agency where he eventually took over Knudsons position.

While I am not a resident of Denver, I value the community a great deal and try to give back as much as possible, said Kahler. The town of Denver has been very supportive.

The spring season started off busy with damaging storms and the increase of clients purchasing homes.

We want to continue to increase our farm and commercial business, said Kahler. We will still, of course, continue to service the auto and home just as much as we have been.

Kahler lives in Waverly with his wife of five years, Kristin, and their one-year-old twin daughters, Adeline and Aurora. He enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking and hosting grill-outs when he is not working.

It has been a smooth transition, said Kahler. John showed me the ropes and passed on a lot of great and loyal people. I hope to have a long career here.
