Denver Savings Bank offers fall bus trip, open to the public
Denver Savings Bank is offering a one-day, fall bus trip to Elkader, IA, on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 7:30 AM-6:30 PM.

The drive to Elkader will allow passengers to enjoy the rolling hills and beautiful countryside scenery of Northeast Iowa. After arriving in Elkader, the group will tour the Elkader Opera House, which was built in 1903 and renovated in the late 1990s.

A tour of Tom Chandler’s Garage will be taken in the late morning. Tom has a collection of unusual, foreign, sporty and luxury cards from 1924-1980.
After a delicious buffet lunch at Johnson’s Restaurant, there will be time to browse in some of Elkader’s unique shops.

The group will then be attending the matinee showing of “Catch Me If You Can” at the Elkader Opera House. This show is a musical comedy about the story of a con artist named Frank Abagnale Jr., who, as a young man, cashed $2.5 million worth of bad checks while impersonating a pilot, a doctor, a teacher and an attorney!

After the show, the group will return to Denver. The public is invited to attend this trip.

The cost will be $80, which includes bus fare aboard a Hawkeye Stages deluxe motor coach, admission for all tours, your ticket to the show, lunch (gratuity included), and tip for the bus driver.

If you are interested in treating yourself to a fun-filled day away, pick up a registration form at Denver Savings Bank or call 319-984-5635 for more information. Registration deadline is Sept. 8.
