Warren Lavern Teisinger
Warren Lavern Teisinger, age 90, of Shell Rock, Iowa, and formerly of Dunkerton, Iowa, died Friday, September 8, 2017, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa.

Warren was born on December 25, 1926, on the family farm in rural Dunkerton, the son of Earl and Charlotte (Katz) Teisinger. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Readlyn, Iowa and graduated from Readlyn High School in 1944. He married the love of his life, Elaine Strottman, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Readlyn on June 10, 1951, the couple made their home on the family farm. Warren loved taking care of the family farm. Warren retired from farming in 1982 and became employed at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, retiring from there in 1995. In 2016, Warren and Elaine moved off the family farm to live at the Meadows Assisted Living in Shell Rock.

Warren was caretaker of Gresham Cemetery in Dunkerton for many years. He made an impression on everyone he met. Warren’s family meant the world to him and he especially looked forward to Sunday family gatherings.

Warren’s memory is honored by: his wife, Elaine of Shell Rock; five children, Debra Teisinger of Denver, Beverly (Robert) Olds of Waterloo, James (Valerie) Teisinger of Waterloo, Carol (Rich) Peine of Readlyn, and Gary (special friend Machelle) Teisinger of Dunkerton; six grandchildren, Angela Olds, Jeremy (Carrie) Olds, Shaunda (Greg) Miller, Spencer Teisinger, Charlotte Peine, and Dylan Peine; five great-grandchildren, Thomas and Emma Shirley, Rhea Olds, Ella Hannan, Vincent Miller, and a great-granddaughter due in September. Warren was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Merle and Wayne Teisinger; and two sisters, Maxine Clubine and Eileen Maurer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 11, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Readlyn, where the family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, at Good Shepherd Chapel, Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. Burial will follow at Gresham Cemetery, rural Dunkerton. Memorials may be directed to Warren’s family and online condolences may be left at kaisercorson.com.
