Jim Buettell to present on trip to Germany
The Denver Genealogy and History Club will meet on Tuesday, January 23 at 2 PM at the Denver Public Library.

The guest speaker will be Jim Buettell. Jim and his daughter recently took a trip to Germany to do research on their family history. Jim’s presentation will include pictures of his travels throughout the country and discussion about his experiences in finding records and other information about his German ancestors.

The Denver Genealogy and History Club meetings are open to anyone interested in local history or learning about their family history. There is no fee to attend and the public is welcome to attend any of the monthly learning sessions. The group meets the 4th Tuesday of the month. Meetings will be at 2 PM during the winter months.

Denver resident, Jo Porter, will speak at the February 27 meeting and share “Letters From A Civil War Soldier 1864.”

Local author Linda Betsinger McCann will be on hand March 27 for a discussion on the lost towns of Bremer and Black Hawk County.
A representative from the State Historical Society will highlight the April 24 meeting and share some of the resources available for genealogy research at the state level.
