Make plans to attend Family Fun Night
The Denver KIDS Group is preparing to hold their annual Family Fun Night, to be held at Denver Elementary School on Friday, March 23 from 5:00-8:00 pm.
The evening will feature carnival style games, inflatables provided by the Iowa Army National Guard, a food court and prizes.

Punch cards to participate in activities can be purchased in advance at the Denver Elementary School office ($3.00 for 10 punches) or at the event for $3.50.

Family Fun Night also includes a Silent Auction, with multiple gift baskets being auctioned off in the elementary art room. Money raised from the gift baskets will help support teachers in purchasing new books, technology, author visits or any needed or wanted supplies for the classroom. The items in the baskets are donated by families of Denver students. Items asked to be donated are themed into family fun gifts such as board games and camping supplies, sports and fitness gifts such as water bottles and balls, household items such as picture frames and kitchen towels, team pride merchandise such as t-shirts and seat cushions, pamper gifts such as body lotions and chocolates, and gift cards from anywhere.

Heading up to the event, elementary students will be selling raffle tickets. Tickets can be purchased for $1 each from any Denver elementary student, which will earn you a chance at one of 20 prize packages, made possible by the support of many local businesses. Raffle prizes include a 50” television, Justin Timberlake concert tickets, UNI game-day package, ISU game-day package, Beats wireless earbuds, a music lover package, 4.5 quart bowl Kitchenaid mixer, Instant Pot and Wildtree freezer meal package, Wisconsin Dells Wilderness Lodge package, Lost Island Adventure package, Des Moines family getaway package, Denver family package, Denver pride package, Smith Studios package, Cedar Falls date night package, Denver pamper package, $100 gift cards from Brothers Market, Target and Kwik Star and $100 in cash. One winner will be drawn per prize in the Multi-Purpose room after Family Fun Night is over. In celebration of ten years of the Denver Elementary raffle, one more $100 cash prize will be drawn out of all the raffle tickets that didn’t win. Winners do not need to be present to win.

At a recent school assembly, elementary students were challenged to sell over 18,000 tickets. If they complete their goal, Principal Chris Ward, Superintendent Brad Laures and Physical Education teacher Kevin Shedenhelm will compete in an epic lip singing battle performance.

Community members are invited to attend Family Fun Night and join in on the fun. KIDS Group is also requesting volunteers to help set-up and staff the games. Cookies for the Cookie Walk and ½ liter bottles of pop for the Pop Ring Toss are also being asked to be donated.
