Inter-generational story time at Willow Winds
Toddlers and preschoolers ages 2 to 5 years are welcome to join the residents of Willow Winds Assisted Living Center for stories and activities on Wednesday morning, May 23 from 10:30 -11:30 AM.

The librarians from the Denver Public Library will be on hand at Willow Winds to read stories about gardening and flowers. The residents will help the children make a fun flower craft and will do other garden-themed activities together.

Inter-generational programs benefit both the children and the adults. When children interact with older adults, they develop social networks, communication skills, have a positive attitude toward aging, and gain a sense of purpose and community service. Studies have shown that senior citizens who take part in activities with young children experience improved health and feel connected and engaged with their community.

A story time will be held each month through the summer at Willow Winds. All ages of children are welcome to attend during June, July, and August. Dates for the story time will be posted in the Forum and on the library’s Facebook page and website soon.

There is no cost to attend the story time and no pre-registration is needed.
For more information on the event, contact the Denver Public Library at 984-5140 or Willow Winds Assisted Living at 984-5867. Willow Winds Assisted Living Center is located at 121 Bremer Ave. in Denver.
