Denver gets rolled by Bosco 9-2
By Sean Kiefer

The regular season is near its end, and the Denver Cyclone softball team is preparing for regionals. The Cyclones currently sit at 4-18, and regionals are their only chance at advancing to state. The Cyclones have 4 games left in the regular season before regionals at Wapsie Valley.

The Cyclones faced the Don Bosco Dons on June 22. This game was also on senior night, so a special shout-out goes to Lindsey Fuller and Haley Barkau for being the Cyclones’ only two seniors.

The Dons scored their runs throughout every phase of the game, which put the Cyclones back. Jaden McMahon pitched for the Cyclones and was the director for the infield. McMahon showed great leadership on the field by making sure everyone was doing their part. The Dons’ offense was overpowering, leading the Cyclones to their downfall of 9-2.

In an interview with Cyclone Head Softball Coach Ashley Craft, she said “We have a really young team and we’ve really been focused a lot on getting better and growing.” She added, “I think we’ve seen ourselves doing better over the course of this season and I’m excited where we’re at.”
