Music, Movies in the Park will continue
Denver Parks and Rec will continue to keep the Music and Movies in the Park going this summer, and is seeking financial assistance from the community.

A schedule of the events to be featured has been released. Only one movie will be shown this summer. For Music in the Park, the performer will be paid after the concert. In the event of poor weather, the concert will be canceled and not rescheduled, and no money will be owed.

The first entertainer for Music in the Park on Friday, June 7, from 5:30-8:30 pm is Aaron Smith of Sumner. He has played for a few Denver concerts in the past, and for Willow Run for a few years and is a huge favorite by many folks in Denver. He is sponsored by The Sweet Spot.
On Friday, June 28, Taylor Kobberdahl, Cedar Falls, will perform from 5:30-8:30 PM. Cost is $450 for 3 hours.

Friday, July 12, Travis Granberg of Oelwein will perform from 5:30-8:30 pm. He is sponsored by the City of Denver.

Strait Run out of Vinton, will take to the park on Friday, July 26, from 5:30-8:30 pm. Strait Run is a family band including a father and his three adult sons. The band has been performing at events in Iowa, Minnesota, Wyoming and Illinois for about 13 years. The charge is $575 for 3 hours.

The movie, “Dumbo!” will be feautred on Friday, August 23, from 7-9:30 pm. Peanuts and flavored water will be provided by the City of Denver. The movie is being sponsored by Schumacher Elevator Co. “Dumbo!” will be shown at the City Park, where more shade is available. The Denver Library will provide a craft project prior to the movie.

Music concerts and the movie will all be in City Park. City Park will be sprayed and cleaned prior to the entertainment. Denver Parks and Rec is arranging for food and drink to be offered in the park to enhance the events.
