Jean Ellen Robe
Jean Ellen Robe, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and formerly of Denver passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at UnityPoint Health -St. Luke’s Living Center West in Cedar Rapids.

Jean was born on June 27, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Virginia “Kat” (Cornelius) Byrum. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City in 1952 and then attended Oklahoma State University for two years. Jean was united in marriage to Kenneth K. Robe on November 12, 1954, in Oklahoma City. Jean worked at Gulf Oil in Oklahoma City; the Iowa City School District and retired from the Waverly Newspapers. Kenneth died on March 7, 2002.

Jean enjoyed riding motorcycles, rollerblading, crafts and playing bridge. She was an avid golfer and Iowa Hawkeye fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jean is survived by her four sons, Steve (Sandy) Robe of North Liberty; Mark (JoAnn) Robe of Kalona; John (Holly) Robe of Cedar Rapids and Paul (Sharon) Robe of Cedar Falls; ten grandchildren, Nathan (Melanie) Robe, Brandon Robe; Katie (Matt) Keller, Derrick (Tasha) Robe, Kenny Robe, Dreyson Robe, Davis Robe, Danika Robe, Morgan Robe, and Jayden Robe and her nine great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Robe, a brother, Jack Byrum, and a grandson, Jeremy Robe.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver with Pastor Craig Henderson officiating. Burial was held in Fairview Cemetery in Denver. Visitation was on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
