Beat Sumner-Fred for third time: Denver boys keep rolling
The Denver boys’ basketball team hosted the second round of post-season play at the Cyclone Center versus Sumner-Fredericksburg. This was the third meeting of the season between the two teams with the Cyclones coming out on top each time.

Sumner-Fredericksburg came out ready to play. They capitalized on missed shots and turnovers by Denver to lead by one at the end of the first quarter.

The Cyclones battled back, outscoring the Cougars in the second to claim the lead by one at half.

Denver continued to wear down the Cougars during the second half, increasing their lead by 14 going into the fourth quarter.

All five Cyclone seniors took to the court late in the fourth as this was their last home game. In the end, the Cyclones claimed victory with a score of 81-61.

Denver advanced to face New Hampton on Tuesday night (Feb. 23) at Sumner-Fredericksburg High School.
