Cyclones finish on top in eight events in season opener

The Denver girls took fourth out of six teams in the Union Girls’ Early Bird Invitational on Apr. 1.

Natalie Demai finished first in the 400-meter dash with her time of 1:05.83. Elaina Hildebrant took fourth in the race, also earning points for the Cyclones.

Aubrey Decker took the top spot in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:45.37. Laci Even finished third in the event at 2:56.49.

Another first place finisher was Amber Homan in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:35.35. Kira Courtelyou scored with a sixth finish and a time of 6:23.06.

Chloe Ristau took second in the 3000-meter run with a finishing time of 11:38.70. Anna Curtis finished third and Tiffani Wright fifth in the 100-meter dash. Another scorer was Lexi Miller with her sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash.

The Cyclones finished in first in five relay events: the 4x100, 4x400, 4x800, 800-sprint medley, and 1600-distance medley. They took third in the 4x200-meter relay.
