James “Jim” Howard Learn
James “Jim” Howard Learn, 71, of Denver, died Monday, December 20, 2021, at his residence.

Jim was born November 21, 1950, in Postville, Iowa, the son of Howard and Helen (Plaster) Learn. He graduated from West Union High School in 1969. He then entered the United States Army, serving until his honorable discharge in 1971. Jim attended NEICC in Calmer in their electrician program and then Hawkeye Community College where he studied industrial technology. On June 19, 1976, he was united in marriage to Renae Reierson at East Clermont Lutheran Church in rural Clermont, Iowa. To this union, three daughters were born. The family made their home in Janesville and then moved to Denver several years later; Jim built both the homes the family lived in. He was a 30 year employee at John Deere where he worked as a machine mechanic, retiring in 2005.

Jim was a kind, loving and always-present husband, father, grandfather and friend. He never said no to a project, trip, or especially his grandkids! Jim loved his grandkids dearly. You would often find him on the floor playing alongside them, making a ramp to jump off, or building them something. He enjoyed camping with his family, and motorcycle trips with Renae. Jim loved his Harley! Trips to Canada, through the Smokey Mountains, down to New Mexico and through Branson, he loved to get out and ride. He was also known to fix most anything and work on endless projects around the house. Jim always left a place better than he found it, picking up trash and recycling wherever he went. He never missed opportunities to help someone or have fun.

Jim is survived by his wife, Renae Learn of Denver, three daughters; Candace Fober of Cedar Falls, Mindee (Drew) Argotsinger of Urbandale, and Stacee Learn of Denver; 8 grandchildren; Keeley and Tristan Fober, Alex, Brody and Cain Argotsinger, Mason Padgett and Roman and Cypress Armstrong, two sisters; Ramona (Ron) Moeller of Medina, TX and Marilyn (Mike) Kuhn of Red Bud, IL, brother-in-law, Rick (Laura) Reierson of East Bethel, MN, and sister-in-law, Beckie Jackson of Mountain Home, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Helen Learn, a brother, Charles Learn, in-laws; Norris and Geraldine Reierson and a brother-in-law, Jerry Jackson.
