Friends of the Library to hold bake sale at shark event
The Denver Library’s summer reading program is underway and, on Tuesday, June 28 at 1:30 pm, the library will feature the Mississippi River Museum’s Ocean Odyssey Traveling Shark Tank. Children entering kindergarten through 6th grade will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with real sharks and learn more about them.
The Friends of the Denver Library will hold a special bake sale in the library lobby before and after the program on June 28. Cookies, bars, and cupcakes will be sold. There might even be some special shark-themed treats to purchase!
If you would be willing to bake and donate to the bake sale, please bring items to the library on Monday, June 27 or the morning of June 28. The group will price items for sale.
Please consider supporting the bake sale. All proceeds will go towards providing summer reading programs for next year.
The Friends of the Library will also hold the annual Glow Swim at Willow Run Country Club Pool on Tuesday, July 19 from 8:00 to 9:30 PM. The cost is $2.00 per swimmer and glow necklaces and bracelets will be provided to swim with. Proceeds from this event will also be put towards summer reading programs for 2023.
The Friends of the Denver Public Library support many of the library’s summer reading programs through fundraising events throughout the year. Without funding from this group, the library could not afford to bring in such quality programs for the children such as the Mississippi River Museum’s Traveling Shark Tank.
