Trees planted in Denver honor Art Kurtt
For the citizens of the Denver community, April 29 was the start of what became a great spring for tree planting. On that day, Arbor Day 2022, two trees were planted at the Discoveries Learning Center in remembrance of Art Kurtt. In the ensuing weeks, the Tree Board planted 23 additional trees on public lands throughout the city.

The Board this year focused on further enhancing the State Street corridor and began planting replacement trees in Prestien Park.

The balance of May was consumed with the ordering and distribution of nearly 40 additional trees that were all part of a promotion which utilized funds donated to the Tree Board in memory of Art Kurtt. This promotion was done with the intent of making trees available to private property owners throughout the community.

In the last two years, the Tree Board, utilizing public and grant dollars, has been able to plant over 85 new trees throughout this area.
