Cyclones and Knights face off for District opener
By Micah Knebel

On July 2, the Denver baseball team (7-19) faced off against Union (8-22) for the first game of post season play and looked to overcome the single point loss they had suffered against the Knights just two weeks prior.

With the Cyclones landing five runs in the opening inning, the game started off just the way the Cyclones needed it to. Denver continued to hold the lead for the next four innings before Union took charge with a 6-5 lead at the close of the fifth.

Denver responded by sending two runners home in the sixth, taking back the lead. At the bottom of the seventh, with the Knights sitting with two outs, Union landed a final two runs, moving the score to 8-7 and once again taking another single point win against Denver.
