Jeffrey “Jeff” Lee Wolter

Jeffrey “Jeff” Lee Wolter, 69, of Denver, died Friday, March 31, 2023, at his home in Denver.
Jeff was born January 21, 1954, in Waterloo, the son of Robert and Marlyn (Kehe) Wolter. He attended Denver Community School, graduating in 1972. He worked for several years at Klawitter Distribution and then Fahr Beverage, both in Waterloo. Then his work took him to Bankers Life Insurance where he was an agent. He was then employed with Community Electric as the manager of the warehouse, retiring in 2019.
Jeff was a loyal friend and dedicated family man. He never missed a family sporting event or time spent with his longtime group of friends. His favorite title was “Grandpa”, he loved nothing more than spending time with his best little bud, Onyx. He was known to help others without any expectation of help in return. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and the New York Yankees, and of course his daughter Ashley’s softball games as a Denver Cyclone and Valparaiso Crusader. In addition to his love of watching sports, he was also the announcer for Denver Cyclone softball for several years.
Jeff was a simple man, he enjoyed working with his hands and playing in the dirt. His acreage near Fredericksburg allowed him to be outside where he loved to tend to his flower and vegetable gardens. He loved his annual fishing trips to Canada and his local hunting and fishing trips.
The past 13 years he has enjoyed the company of his very special friend, Tammy Land, of New Hampton. Together the couple enjoyed their time spent together, traveling throughout the United States on several occasions.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Michael) Coffin of Waverly, one grandson, Onyx of Waverly, his mother, Marlyn Wolter of Denver, one sister, Debrah (Gerald) Bischoff of Bloomington, MN, two brothers; Jon (Brenda) Wolter of Denver and Joel (Joy) Wolter of Denver, and his special friend, Tammy Land of New Hampton. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wolter.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Willow Run Country Club in Denver from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 5th, 2023. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital or The Special Olympics. Online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com
