Lorene “Lori” Irene Nolan

Lorene “Lori” Irene Nolan, 62, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 24, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Lori was born January 26, 1961, the daughter of Wendell and Florence (Burch) Davis in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In 1979, she was united in marriage to Gary Nolan. To this union two sons were born, Kenneth and Christopher. The couple would later divorce. However, in 2006, they rejoined and were together until the time of Lori’s passing.
Lori graduated from Hamilton College in Cedar Falls in September of 2006, earning her LPN. She worked at many of the local hospitals and nursing homes in the area, most notably Covenant Hospital, Shell Rock Healthcare Center, Cedar Falls Healthcare, Park View Nursing and Rehab and the Denver Sunset Home. Her work was very important to her and she enjoyed enriching the lives of the patients and residents.
Lori loved to work on all sorts of crafting projects including scrapbooking, painting, embroidery, and drawing. She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola products and loved antiquing. Family was the most important thing in Lorene’s life; she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Lori is survived by her spouse, Gary of Waterloo; two sons, Kenneth (Cristina) Nolan of Denver and Christopher (Laurisa) Nolan of Waverly; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way; one sister, Cori Duesenberg of Waverly; one nephew, Jeremy Duesenberg of Cedar Falls and three half-sisters, Sandy, Linda and Sheryl Vaughn. She is preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, Joseph Duesenberg, and a half-brother, Stan Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Larry Feldt officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home Facebook page. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Lorene will be cremated following the service and a private burial will be held in the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls.
