Bruce Buhrow

Bruce R. Buhrow, 82, of Denver, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Denver Sunset Home after a brief illness.

Bruce was born on February 27, 1943, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Lloyd Frederick Wilhem and Florence Eleanor (Babcock) Buhrow. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo.  He attended school in Waterloo and graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1961. Bruce served in the National Guard for eight years.

Bruce met Bonnie Blonigan while ice skating at the lagoon in Waterloo and they were united in marriage on November 4, 1962, at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. After their marriage, the couple lived in Waterloo where they started their family. In 1966, they moved to rural Denver and ten years later, they moved to their new home in Denver. Bruce worked for Waterloo Unloader for five years prior to starting at John Deere. Bruce retired from John Deere as a supervisor on January 1, 1998, after thirty-one years.

Bruce never met a stranger that he didn’t visit with or get to know, loved telling stories and jokes. He was always the first to lend a hand to anyone and everyone. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and together they restored a John Deere Model B tractor.
