Kenneth Becker

Kenneth “Kenny” Paul Becker, 84, of rural Waverly, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Denver Sunset Home in Denver.

Kenny was born January 1, 1941, on the family farm outside of Waverly, the son of Albert and Elsie Becker. He graduated from Denver High School in 1959. On June 2, 1963, he was united in marriage to Carolyn “Kay” Rundle at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Oran. To this union, four children were born; Kevin, Susan, Kent and Brad. Kenny worked for Strotman Building Center in Waverly for 35 years, retiring due to having a stroke in 1996. In addition, over the years he also worked for Schield Bantam (Terex), Thies Construction and John Deere.

Kenny was a hard worker and provider for his family. He loved anything to do with farming and was immensely proud of the family’s Heritage Farm Award (2019) which marked 150 years of the farm being in the family.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Kay, of Waverly, four children; Kevin (Teri) Becker of Gilbert, AZ, Susan (David) Foster of Des Plaines, IL, Kent (Holly) Becker of North Liberty and Brad (Jennifer) Becker of Waverly, eight grandchildren; Austin and Hannah Becker of Gilbert, AZ, Terese Foster of Tampa FL, Paige Foster of Des Plaines, IL, Marissa and Micah Becker of North Liberty, IA, Audrey and Davis Becker of Waverly, a sister-in-law, Marlene Fasse of Waverly and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Louis A. Becker.

Visitation was be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver with Pastor Reed Pedersen officiating, the family greeted friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, Ken will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Denver Sunset Home. Online condolences may be left at kaisercorson.com.
